Batman is one of the most recognizable characters in the culture pop world and, as much as you are not a fan of superhero comics, series or movies, it is very likely that you have heard of the Dark Knight.
While Batman usually starts from a slightly more “realistic” aesthetic, considering that he doesn’t have special powers like his countrymen from DClike Superman or Wonder Woman, science takes issue with this claim and says that even his costume makes no sense.
One of the criticisms made by scientists, for example, is regarding the cover: according to scholars from the University of Leicester, this part of the clothing is not the safest way to travel through the streets of Gotham City, functioning only as a “method to decelerate quickly”, just like a parachute.
Another of the comments is aimed at the hood that hides Batman’s true identity – a piece of considerable solidity that, according to some of the various interpreters of the character, is quite uncomfortable and not at all functional.
In 2014, Michael Keatonwho played the hero in ‘Batman’1989, e ‘Batman Returns’from 1992, revealed that filming was made even more complicated by the hood, saying that he couldn’t move his neck and, in order to look to the side, he had to turn his entire torso of his body.
Bearing in mind that the latest version of ‘Batman’starring Robert Pattinsonhas already premiered in national cinemas.

“Two years patrolling the streets as Batman (Pattinson), causing fear in the hearts of criminals, led Bruce Wayne into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth (Serkis) and Lieutenant James Gordon (Wright) – among the city’s corrupt network of officials and important figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of revenge among his dear citizens.”
“When a killer attacks Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the criminal underworld, where he encounters characters like Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Farrell), Carmine Falcone (JTurturro) e Edward Nashton/Charada (Damage). As the evidence begins to get personal and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”
The cast still has Zoë Kravitz (Cat Woman), Paul Dano (Charade), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth) e Colin Farrell (Penguin).
