A movie ‘Law Angels’ marked the official debut of Phil Lord e Christopher Miller on the movie scene live-action and became one of the audience favorites of 2012. And, for those who don’t remember, Johnny Depp made a surprising appearance in the film, which not only shocked viewers, but also cast and crew members.
In celebration of the film’s tenth anniversary, Miller released a series of photos and memories from the production – including the moment when Depp and Peter DeLuise make the big reveal in the third act that they are officers of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
The director revealed that the actor’s costume helped to keep his identity secret and, in this way, even “Brie Larson believed he was an extra”, saying that Depp “took the opportunity and disappeared for three hours during meals”.

Based on the classic series aired between the 1980s and 1990s, the film brought Jonah Hill e Channing Tatumwith Hill penning the script alongside Michael Bacall.
in the plot, “Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Hill) studied together but were never friends. The situation changes when they meet again at the police academy, where they start helping each other. Already graduated, they get involved in a mess when trying to make the arrest of a drug dealer, who worked in the park where they worked. Relocated to a division commanded by Captain Walters (Ice Cube), where young police officers work undercover, they are tasked with finding out who is the supplier of a dangerous new drug. Back in the school environment and acting under assumed names, Jenko and Schmidt need to get used to the new times without losing focus on the task they were given.”
Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Ellie Kemper, Chris Parnell and several others were also part of the cast.
‘Law Angels’ became a box office success, grossing over US$200 million worldwide, and also from critics, conquering 85% approval on the Rotten Tomatoes. A sequel was released in 2014.
