The new horror production from A24‘X‘, had its US debut with a 100% approval on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes – and more than a day later, with over 100 reviews, the film still holds a 96% overall approval rating.
That is, it seems that the film starring Mia Goth (‘Emma’) e Jenna Ortega (‘Scream 5’) will get fans of the horror genre very excited.
And how the CinePOP waste no time, our Renato Marafon went to New York to check out this new bet by A24 for the year 2022. Below you can see the excited analysis, which was also shared on our social networks:
“‘X’ is one of the best horror movies of recent years. A tribute to 80’s movies, with lots of nudity, slasher and gore. In addition to the bloody scenes, the film builds an atmosphere of psychological terror that makes everything even more grotesque.
Director Ti West (House of the Devil) teaches a lesson in how to make a horror movie by introducing characters in-depth to a plot full of surprises, twists and a macabre humor. Brittany Snow delivers the performance of her life, as a porn star, and Jenna Ortega shines as always. The movie takes its time to terrify, but when it does…
It’s a retro and innovative film that manages to create several well-directed surprises and deaths, which make us squirm in our seats. But the pace is slow: the horror only starts after 1 hour of film.

“Walking in danger is the essential primer of horror, a well-trodden path. But ‘X’ is brutal and harrowing, written and directed by Ti West, the author makes this journey feel new in some ways and at the same time familiar.” – Entertainment Weekly
“Bloody. Brutal. Dirtier than a big city alley; fuller of guts than a slaughterhouse. This is how you like horror movies and trust us when we say Ti West thinks so too.” – Rolling Stone
“With a wild edge, ‘X’ is a film that earns a place not only among A24’s best horror films, but also in the genre at large. It is painstaking and patient work that brings a wicked sense of humor and never leaves it once the viewer has been won over.” – Collider
“It is a tribute, but also an original and surprising work. Grotesque, full of dark humor, with relatively complex subplots and talented performances by its cast.” – Chicago Sun-Times
No brazil, ‘X‘ doesn’t yet have an official release date.
