‘Maximum Speed 2’ was released 25 years ago, but it’s still a bad memory for the protagonist Sandra Bullock.
In the plot, Annie Porter (Bullock) and her SWAT boyfriend Alex Shaw (Jason Patric) try to avoid the collision of a runaway ship after a maniac lived by Willem Dafoe takes care of the vessel.
Unfortunately, the feature failed to repeat the success of the previous film, in which Bullock acted with Keanu Reeves aboard a bus loaded with explosives.
The 2nd movie was so bad, it only grossed $164 million around the world, from a budget of $110 millionwhich ended plans for a possible trilogy.
While promoting his next film, ‘Lost City’, Bullock talked to the Too Fab and recalled the attempt to score the sequel.
She then said that she feels ashamed to have been part of the cast.
“There is a film that I regret having been in. In fact, I’m really ashamed that I did. And that movie is ‘Maximum Speed 2‘. I’ve talked about this so many times… This movie doesn’t make any sense. It was a heavy, slow vessel heading for an island.”
“This is one of those jobs that I would like to erase from my career. I don’t think this movie has any fans that I know of…”
Daniel Radcliffe (‘Harry Potter’), his co-star in ‘Lost City’also participated in the interview and joked by saying:
“I always thought this was one of those cult movies, you know? There must be someone who likes this movie!”
E Bullock countered:
“Must be about five people. I think 12-year-olds would be thrilled to see a slow boat heading towards a small island.”
So, do you agree with her?
Remembering that ‘Lost City’ has a premiere scheduled for April, the 21st in national cinemas.
in the plot, Bullock lives a lonely writer certain that nothing could be worse than being stuck on a tour with her cover model (Channing Tatum). Until a kidnapping attempt proves to her that real life can be far more dangerous, weird and romantic than any of her fictions.
