Despite the monthly Netflix is rising in several countriesstreaming continues to cancel series loved by the public and leaving its subscribers angry.
The new victim of streaming was the series ‘File 81‘. News of the cancellation comes two months after the show’s January 14 premiere, which left several loose ends at the end of the season.
On social media, subscribers again criticized Netflix for the number of cancellations:
So it is! File 81 ended up full of loose ends, it had everything to have a sequel. But the hype crowd more teen series… then it ends up having more investment, unfortunately.

Netflix canceled File 81 in the first season and probably the money for the series will go to another season of Stranger Things or Elite that no one can handle anymore pic.twitter.com/VEHqkOUpWt

File 81 was one of the only newer series on Netflix that I found above average and they cancel.
Then they go there and test charge for additional per profile, price only increases..
It’s hard to keep that signature, damn it.

The cancellation is actually quite surprising, this is because ‘Archive 81‘ (in the original) entered Nielsen’s and Netflix’s weekly Top 10 among the platform’s original productions, and also skyrocketed to Netflix’s No.Ozark‘.
As a Netflix now always analyzing cost over audience, their renewal decisions have been increasingly rigid. That is, even after such repercussions, the audience that saw the series possibly did not reach the minimum limit established by the streaming giant.
‘File 81‘ was based on a podcast of supernatural horror, being produced by James Wan | and written and produced by Rebecca Sonnenshinewho made his debut as showrunner on the series.
The plot follows archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), who takes on a job restoring a collection of videotapes from 1994. Reconstructing the work of a documentary filmmaker named Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he is immediately drawn to her investigation of a dangerous cult. As the story unfolds in the two timelines, Dan slowly becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to Melody. When the two form a mysterious connection, Dan is convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she suffered 25 years ago.
