A lot of people are looking forward to finally watching ‘Morbius‘ and check out a whole new universe, however, those who have seen the film, much of the world press, sketched very negative reactions about it, leaving fans with a foot behind.
the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes is already registering all the criticisms that are coming regarding the new addition of Sony’s spider-verse, starting with ‘Venom‘, and so far, of the 55 reviews entered, the film has only achieved 20% approval in the general average, and should very soon become a ‘tomato I can“.
Below you can see the opinion of some journalists from the main vehicles in the world about the long:
“The cinematic equivalent of Murphy’s Law is demonstrated by this sleepy superhero show. It is a film without any dramatic streak, devoid of originality, narrative coherence, compelling characters or a single vaguely human performance.” Times
“If there is any justice in Hollywood, ‘Morbius’ will be defined as one of the worst films in the history of superhero cinema. That’s if the movie doesn’t bury the genre first…” Globe and Mail
“If superhero movies are really going to dominate cinema in the next decade, we should at least have healthier competition between studios. Hopefully in the future Sony can do something better than this thing.” Independent
“The entire movie is generic, irritating and almost shocking. You watch it and think, ‘Is this what we’re going to get in this new chapter of Marvel?’” Variety
“Marvel’s vampire superhero Morbius is among us. But sadly, his superpower is being extreme annoyance.” The Guardian
Our film critic, Wilker Medeiros, reviewed the film in its review that is now available, as well as left its first impressions. Check it out below:
“The movie looks in three directions: it’s an origin story, it’s an action movie, and it also has horror elements – in the ‘Doctor and the Beast’ style – but, incredibly, it manages to disappoint in all these respects.
The film even starts well with a well-executed opening scene, until, through a flashback, it devotes almost 40 minutes to telling the origins of the character played by an increasingly affected Jared Leto. This choice completely breaks the rhythm.
After that, the plot introduces the character of Matt Smith, who, without a doubt, is the most positive point of the production, having fun on the scene.
The dynamics of Leto and Smith take place with the latter funding the research done by Vampiro Vivo, but everything is so pasteurized and uninteresting that, at no time, we give importance to the protagonist’s “suffering”.
The movie that looks and feels like a B movie, seems to have come straight out of the 1990s, being a kind of ‘Spawn – The Hell Soldier’ and the worst of ‘Blade – The Vampire Hunter’.
It’s hard to understand what Sony’s intention was, within this new universe, started by ‘Venom’, when releasing this ‘Morbius’ – mainly because of the post-credits scene that, in addition to forcing the bar, promises to cause a worldwide pandemic of shame. .
