Sam Raimi is back to superhero movies with ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘, and fans would love to see the director continue his beloved saga of the ‘Spider man‘ with Tobey Maguire starring in a fourth film.
And a recent interview with the filmmaker proves that the likelihood of that happening has never been higher than it is now.
In an interview with Fandango to promote the release of the sequel to ‘Doctor Strange‘, Raimi was asked if he and Tobey would team up again now that the actor’s version of the webhead has officially been resurrected in the MCU.
“I realized after doing Doctor Strange that everything is a possibility when it comes to the Marvel universe, any team or movie. I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what they think about it. I didn’t really go after it. But it sounds nice. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I would love to work with Tobey again,” he stated.
Recently, the Giant Freakin Robot stated that the Sony is really considering a 4th movie from the ‘Spider man’ from Tobey Maguirewith the return of the director Sam Raimi in the direction.
The first film directed by Sam Raimi hit theaters in the United States exactly 19 years ago, on the day May 3, 2002and took the term blockbuster to the next level by raising $821 million.
According to the website, the studio got excited after Maguire agree to return for a small stake in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ – arranging a new professional meeting with Raimi since 2007, when they made ‘spiderman 3‘.
The reunion between Raimi e Maguire would be lighting the flames for the continuation of the original webhead trilogy.
If it really happens, the plot of ‘spiderman 4‘ will begin after the events of ‘Spiderman: No Return Home’ e ‘Doctor Strange 2’.
For now, none of this has been confirmed by the studios.
For those who don’t know, ‘spiderman 4‘ even got a premiere forecast for 2011 and would bring Mysterio, Vulture and the Black Cat to the rogues gallery.
