To the sadness of a legion of fans, the band from Pernambuco zombie nation, who has been in business for over 30 years, announced today (07) that he will take a break from his career. Formerly led by the legendary Chico ScienceNação was the precursor of Mangue Beat in the 1990s and after the early death of the vocalist, it continued with Jorge Du Peixe on vocals.
Unfortunately, the news about the break in activities was revealed by the band’s bassist, Alexandre Dengue. The musician explains that the decision was made even before the pandemic, which began in March 2020: “There are many issues involved. We want to do other things. The Nation is no longer our priority”.
Dengue said that the band’s initial idea was to end work after its participation in the 2020 Carnival, in Recife and Olinda. About a possible return of the band to the stage in the future, the bassist believes that it can happen, even without his presence: “It’s a fresh start. I’m tired of touring, and it might end for me. Maybe the crowd will decide to come back. This is very volatile. It depends on what we want as a group.”.
Remembering that the last show of zombie nation will be held next Friday, April 16, at the Carnaval do Parador event. The program also features the band Eddie, Enchanting Fire String, DJ 440 e Marcelo Falcão.
