All the controversy surrounding the weight gain of Thor em ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ was brought back to social media following the release of the first trailer for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘.
The superhero lived by Chris Hemsworth gained weight in the last weight of the Marvel supergroup, of which he was nicknamed Fat Thor, which made a lot of people want to know how he would be in the new God of Thunder movie directed by Taika Waititi.
At the time the idea of using the Fat Thor took a bad turn for some people, who accused the film of being fatphobic for using the character only as comic relief – although other people enjoyed this more good-natured side.
Yes, he appears still overweight at the beginning of the trailer, but soon we see the brute training with huge chains and returning to his old form. This caused new comments to emerge, as you can see below.
“If Marvel had the guts, they would make Thor chubby”said film critic Chris Evangelista.
“It would have been nice if Marvel had kept Thor fat for a while. It would have been nice to see the hero learn to love his body, it would have been worthy”added a fan.
Taika Waititi said, before filming began, that whether or not to keep the Fat Thor It’s “a debate that still exists at Marvel. We’re trying to figure out how long – how many months or years – is this going to continue after ‘Endgame’, and at what point will he lose weight?”
The screenwriters of ‘Avengers: Endgame‘, Christopher Markus e Stephen McFeelysaid they ended the movie with Thor still overweight to prove that was irrelevant to their plot arc: “He is emotionally resolved. We solved his problem, and it wasn’t the weight.”these Markus.
“I know some people are sensitive about the humor on top of that, which I understand. But our idea was to know how he was going to deal with his emotional state, even said by his mother. And I think he’s the ideal Thor at the end of Endgame, and he’s carrying a weight.”concluded the screenwriter.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘ debut in July 7th of this year.
Previously, director and screenwriter Taika Waititi revealed that the feature film is so insane it “shouldn’t have been made”.
“Well, between you and me and the readers, I’ve done a lot of insane things in my life. I’ve lived ten different lives. But this is the most bizarre movie I’ve ever made. If you took all the elements of this movie apart, it shouldn’t make sense. It’s as if it almost shouldn’t be done. If you walked into a room and said, ‘I want this and this and this’. Who’s in it? That kind of person. What are we going to call him? ‘Love and Thunder’. I mean, you would never work again. Maybe I won’t go after that.”
The cast is also made up of Jaime Alexander (Lady Sif), Jeff Goldblum (Grand Master), Christian Bale (Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods) e Russell Crowe (Zeus).
Melissa McCarthy will play the “fake version” of Hela in the Asgard theater troupe, alongside Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth e Sam Neill.
Michael Giacchino (‘Batman’, ‘Ratatouille’) is responsible for the soundtrack.
