According to Deadline, insiders linked to the production ofBeing Mortal‘, they said that the new film from Bill Murray (‘Ghostbusters’) was suspended due to inappropriate behavior by the star behind the scenes.
After the complaints against Murraya Searchlight Pictures needed to open an internal investigation to investigate the case, but studio representatives declined to comment on the matter.
The cast and crew were informed of the suspension last Wednesday (20) in a letter sent by the studio.
The star’s participation was being kept under wraps, so it is unknown if he would make a cameo or if he would have a prominent role in the plot.
While the investigation is ongoing, it is unclear whether the character will be removed or if Murray will be replaced from the roster.
The recordings of the feature written, directed and starring Aziz Ansari (‘Master of None’) started on March 28 and were already halfway through.
As the production break has no end date, this should affect the premiere, scheduled for 2023.
The plot is based on the book ‘Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End‘ (‘Mortals: Us, Medicine, and What Really Matters in the End’), written by Atul Gawande.
Production is carried out by Youree Henleyresponsible for ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘Kajillionaire‘.
