A feminine crimson howler monkey was rescued by the Wild Fauna Workforce of the Municipal Secretariat for the Surroundings, Urbanism and Sustainability (Smamus) and undergoes medical examinations this Saturday (13). Noticed by residents of the Hípica neighborhood, South Zone, the animal was present in a residence.
The feminine is in good well being and is being cared for on the Núcleo Preservas, an initiative linked to the Hospital de Clínicas Veterinárias of the Federal College of Rio Grande do Sul, devoted to wild animals. After medical evaluation, it is going to be launched into the wild. It’s an endangered species, protected by regulation.
